The history of the companies starts on March 15th, 1944: by order No. 108 in Gomel the specialized installation and production office «Belenergomontazh» was created as a structural division of the all-union building company «TSENTROENERGOMONTAZH».

Since first days of companies existence the all-union building company «TSENTROENERGOMONTAZH» entered in realizing plan of USSR electrification, installation of both locomotive units at textile and peat enterprises in the European part of the Soviet Union and as well as installation of power equipment at large thermal power plants.

The building company commissioned heat power plants for the industrial giants of the first five-year plans – Uralmash, the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant and others, and during the Great Patriotic War company constructed energy infrastructure for the defense industry in the Urals and Siberia. A huge breakthrough, which brought the company to the category of enterprises of important national and even global importance, was the serial installation of nuclear power plants. Nobody has done anything like this before.

The end of the 1950s was marked by an explosive growth in the power construction of the BSSR. A corresponding increase in power capacity was also required. Continuing to work on the installation of large stations, industrial boiler houses, flax factories, peat and food industries throughout the Soviet Union, «Belenergomontazh» by the beginning of 1959 had 14 installation sites located in all regional cities of the republic. The total number of employees exceeded 950 people. Throughout the 1950s, the organization put into operation the Baranovichskaya CHP, the first power unit of Minsk CHP-3, the the first power unit of Vitebsk CHP and the first power unit the Vasilevichy TPP.

In the 1970s, the power industry of the BSSR entered a whole new phase of development. During this period, the main aim was successfully achieved – the intensification of energy production. During this time, the first power units were built at Grodno CHP-2, Bobruisk CHP-2, Mozyr CHP and Minsk CHP-4, as well as the main gas-oil boiler unit in the industry type BKZ-420 was put into operation at Bobruisk CHP-2 and at the Mozyr CHP – the leading in the industry turbine unit with a power output of 135 MW.

The results of such activities were not long in coming – in August 1974, the TSENTROENERGOMONTAZH was awarded the Order of Lenin. The new decade set new tasks for the company which were solved efficiently and on time. The 1980s went down in history as the years of the construction of the first power units at the Smolensk NPP and Gomel CHP-2 and the commissioning of the first boiler of the start-up boiler house of the Minsk NPP.

In 1994 the company received an independent status, and in 1997 it was transformed into a joint stock company without a share of state ownership. The facts eloquently show that the company has achieved brilliant success in its history.

For achievements in the field of quality, the joint-stock company was awarded the Prize of the Government of the Republic of Belarus three times – in 2001, 2007 and 2014. In September 2004, JSC «TSENTRONERGOMONTAZH» was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus for its great contribution to the development of the energy system of Belarus.
